Big Bus Tours: Gamified Group Experience

For this studio project, my team—Tiny Bus Tours—collaborated with Big Bus Tours to explore how Savannah could be added to their tour destinations. Our challenge was to craft an engaging and immersive experience designed for small tourist groups.

We developed a gamified AR bus tour concept where tourists would play live games during the ride, such as:

  • 🕵️‍♀️ Find the Object

  • 📸 Spot the Scene

  • 🌀 Speed Match

Our interactive features were designed to boost engagement, group bonding, and replay value. Each stop and mini-game brought Savannah’s rich culture to life through play and storytelling.

This project involved:

  • User journey mapping for group-based tourism

  • Designing AR UI overlays

  • Mid-fidelity prototyping and feedback testing

  • Presenting two concepts:

    • Informational AR Tour

    • Gamified AR Tour (most successful)

  • Rapid iteration based on demo feedback and feasibility

“How might we help small groups experience immersive tours through emerging technology—so that every tourist feels engaged and comfortable, driving satisfaction and repeat attendance?”

This was a collaborative and fun UX challenge that let us experiment with playful storytelling, tourism UX, and future-forward AR concepts.
